Description
MRI is becoming the primary diagnostic tool for the detection, staging, and treatment stratification of colorectal and ovarian cancer patients with peritoneal metastases. According to recent ESGAR guidelines, MRI is the preferred imaging tool for staging peritoneal disease. Therefore, clinicians are increasingly requesting this type of MRI to stage peritoneal metastases.
In this online case-based workshop, participants can examine MRI scans of colorectal and ovarian patients with peritoneal metastases. Participants are given a range of lectures that provide practical hands-on guidance on performing and reporting MRI for staging and follow-up, as well as a multidisciplinary perspective from our experienced surgeon and a live MDT discussion.
Target group
Senior residents, general radiologists, abdominal radiologists or residents interested in abdominal and/or oncological imaging. At least some previous experience reading abdominal MRIs is recommended.
Learning objectives
To understand the role of CT and its impact on treatment planning
To understand the role of MRI and its effect on treatment planning
To know how to write a good quality staging peritoneal metastases report
To learn pearls and pitfalls of MR image interpretation
