A 55-year-old man, smoker, with a previously detected large solid pulmonary mass on HRCT, comes to our department for a total body CT scan for staging. A single nodular lesion is identified in hepatic segments VII/VIII.

A 56-year-old woman, active smoker, presented with a one-month history of persistent cough and fever, associated with marked night sweats. Laboratory analysis revealed leukocytosis (167,410/mm³) with neutrophilia, elevated C-reactive protein (6.42 mg/dL), and mild abnormalities in liver function tests. The patient provided an abdominal CT scan performed two months earlier, which did not show any pathologic findings. A new chest-abdominal CT with iv contrast was performed.

A 43-year-old man presented to our emergency room with a two-week history of worsening abdominal pain associated with nausea and vomiting. An abdominal X-ray was performed, with air-fluid levels. An abdominopelvic CT was requested for further evaluation. The patient had a history of skin cancer 10 years ago, in remission.

A 78-year-old male with a history of sliding gastric hernia and anemia, for which a contrast-enhanced abdominal CT was performed 5 years ago. The patient now presents to the emergency department with exertional dyspnea and worsening dependent edema over the past week, requiring hospitalization. During hospitalization, laboratory tests reveal elevated hepatic function indices and diffuse abdominal pain in the upper quadrants. Based on these findings, a CECT is scheduled.

A 72-year-old caucasian female presented to the emergency department with acute onset of crampy abdominal pain localized to the right lower quadrant, associated with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea over the past 24 hours. Her past medical history is unremarkable aside from well-controlled hypertension. She denied fever, recent travel, or previous similar episodes. Over the past month, she has experienced decreased appetite, and an unintentional weight loss of approximately 4 kg. On physical examination, she is hemodynamically stable. There is moderate distension of the abdomen with localized tenderness in the right lower quadrant. Laboratory studies reveal normocytic anemia (Hb 10.8 g/dL), and normal white blood cell count. Inflammatory markers are within normal limits. An abdominal CT was performed to further investigate the cause of the symptoms.

A 25-year-old man presented with acute abdominal pain localized to the right upper quadrant. Following an unremarkable ultrasound, an emergency abdominal CT was performed, which revealed ascending retrocecal appendicitis (not shown) and an incidental lesion. To characterise the lesion, an endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) was carried out. Following the procedure, the patient developed epigastric pain and an increase in acute-phase reactants. Consequently, a CT scan was conducted, followed by a follow-up CT scan one week later. Finally, the diagnostic assessment was completed with a MRI.

A 25-year-old woman presented to the Emergency Department complaining of strong right flank pain. She had fever (around 38-39°C) and her laboratory test showed an high increase in white blood cell count (around 16.000 U/L) with augmented neutrophils (around 12.700) but are otherwise normal. Her medical history was otherwise unremarkable, and the only medications taken are anti-contraceptive pills. A contrast-enhanced CT was performed in other to gather information of any possible infection or other abdominal anomalies.
