Description
MRI has revolutionised the detection and staging of peritoneal metastases. Now established as the imaging standard for assessing disease extent, it empowers radiologists to take a leading role in patient selection and surgical planning. The ESGAR Online Workshop on Imaging and Staging of Peritoneal Metastases embraces this evolution in a completely renewed format. It begins with a live, interactive day of expert lectures and case demonstrations, followed by 40 online MRI cases that participants can review at their own pace, receiving instant feedback to refine interpretation skills. The course concludes with small-group discussions with international experts in radiology and surgery — a dynamic and practice-oriented experience designed to strengthen MRI expertise and elevate confidence in managing peritoneal disease. Mastering MRI interpretation has become essential for abdominal radiologists working in oncology — and this workshop is designed to help you do exactly that.
Target group
Senior residents, general radiologists, abdominal radiologists or residents interested in abdominal and/or oncological imaging. Although at least some previous experience reading abdominal MRIs is recommended, this course is also intended for surgeons and other clinicians wanting to become familiar with MRI for peritoneal disease.
Learning objectives
- To understand the role of CT and its impact on treatment planning
- To understand the role of MRI and its effect on treatment planning
- To know how to write a good quality staging peritoneal metastases report
- To learn pearls and pitfalls of MR image interpretation
