Description
The Essentials workshop series is designed specifically for Radiologists in Training and non-GI specialised Radiologists seeking a solid foundation in gastrointestinal imaging. Focused on Levels I–II, the series covers all the essential basics you need to know — from appropriate imaging modalities and protocols to interpretation of key imaging findings.
Led by experienced GI radiology fellows, each session offers practical tips & tricks, illustrative case reviews, and concise theoretical insights to enhance your clinical confidence. Whether you're looking to strengthen your day-to-day practice or preparing for the EDGAR diploma, this series provides a valuable learning platform.
This focused Abdominal MRI course is designed to take you from foundational knowledge to practical confidence. Starting with the basics and building in complexity, each session blends key theory with real cases, covering:
- Imaging modalities and protocols
- Step-by-step interpretation techniques
- Practical tips & tricks
Cases include clinical background, guided walkthroughs, and clear take-home learning points — making this course ideal for radiologists aiming to strengthen their skills in abdominal MR imaging in a structured, practical way.
Learning objectives
- To learn abdominal MRI techniques and protocols, including key sequences, basic MR physics, common artefacts, and methods to optimise image quality
- To recognise MRI safety and contrast use, including appropriate contrast selection, risk–benefit considerations, and strategies to minimise contrast-related artefacts
- To learn to identify and understand liver MRI findings, including techniques for assessing diffuse and focal liver disease and integrating imaging with clinical context
Target group
Young radiologists, people who wish to prepare for EDGAR (Diploma) or wish to acquire a foundation-level training across abdominal subspecialties
